Background of the foundation
Mama Beatrinia Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in 2022 in Kasese, Uganda, in memory of Beatrinia Biira, who died in February 2022. The foundation works to promote animal welfare, plant-based diet and economic empowerment.
Beatrinia Biira was a cherished and friendly woman who was dearly loved by all who knew her. She valued her family and friends and she was very loyal to those close to her. She was a kind woman and her warm personality gave her a natural ability to connect with people and draw them to her.
Beatrinia was a vegetarian, herbalist, and a traditional village birth attendant. Beatrinia was dedicated to the ethics of care for both human and non-human animal lives.
The Foundation was created as a way to memorize the death of Beatrinia Biira and her work.
Mama Beatrinia Foundation
Mama Beatrinia Foundation was established in 2019 and was legally registered as nonprofit making organization in February 2020 as a mechanism to mobilize and nurture the areas` development in Rwenzori region-Uganda and to make technical support services in the fields of; environment conservation, health, education promotions, human rights, animal protection and economic empowerment.
